M11 Moments

Five Minutes with Jill Goatcher.

Interior Designer of Intext Design Jill Goatcher is the latest inspiring individual to be featured for ‘Five Minutes With…’ Jill is known for her extensive knowledge of design, and her understated elegance and innovative signature aesthetic. We spoke with Jill to find out how it all began, what her career highlight has been, her take on self-care and beauty, and her biggest piece of advice.

How it all began…
I was always passionate about design but my father was of the view that I had to get a ‘real’ job so I became a nurse.  While working in London Hospital I realised that bedpans weren’t for me, so I put myself through design school part-time and the rest is history.

My design style can be described as…
Understated elegance – less is more.

Biggest pinch me moment…
The arrival of my first grandchild.

I’m inspired by…
I have always been in awe of Giorgio Armani when it comes to fashion and design.  When it comes to Architectural design, I love the work of Richard Myer and my inspiration for interior design is Christian Liaigre for his simplicity.

What I love most about what I do is…
The people I meet, and the faith they have in me in allowing me to design beautiful homes that reflect their personalities, while indulging my passion for design.

I have been a client of Mobeen’s since I chased a woman down Jervois Rd to ask who cut her hair! I love M11 because of the whole experience: the interior design; the head massages and a great haircut while receiving the latest fashion updates from Mobeen.

I practice self-care by…
Indulging in far too much red wine!

My beauty routine is…
Very simple and has been the same for years – cleansing morning and night and using a great eye cream and moisturiser along with regular facials.

I’m currently obsessed with…
My boyfriend and my new Lancôme lip gloss.

At the moment, you’ll find the below in my beauty bag…
Clarins Exfoliant, Vitamin C capsules and an Environ moisturiser and of course the trusty Elizabeth Arden 8-hour cream.

Biggest piece of advice…
Happiness is the new rich.
